We are pleased to release our #Report – The Gig Economy in Tricity: A Platform Labour Market Study. The report is a field-based study examining the realities of platform labour across Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula. Based on primary survey data from 300+ gig workers, the report explores how #India‘s platform economy is reshaping employment, livelihoods, and labour market institutions. It examines who participates in gig work, why workers increasingly rely on multiple platforms, how regulatory differences influence worker outcomes, and what these findings mean for the future of labour policy.
At #PANJ Foundation, we believe that better public policy begins with better evidence. We hope this report contributes meaningfully to ongoing conversations on the future of #work, digital platforms, labour governance, and social security in India.
